Today's channeled message was a tricky one. Anyone who knows me knows I'm terrified of snakes. I have been since I was a kid. I'm not sure if it was due to my religious upbringing. In the Christian world, snakes are considered evil and are related to sin and from an early age I was taught to just be freaked out at the mention of them.
Even now as an adult I am. Last summer, we saw a large rat snake in a bush outside of our back window. My body began to shake as the color flushed out of my face and my stomach went into knots. This wasn't an "ew gross!" reaction but an actual phobia I've been unable to shake. That said, I left the snake alone and just avoided the back yard the remainder of the summer.
In our daily life, people among us can be related like snakes. They slither around us, they hiss their lies at us and then they go hiss lies about us at other people. They may even try to constrict you in various ways, crushing the life from you until you can't go anymore.
Oddly, I'm not the biggest fan of this analogy even as I write this. In the past year, I've watched a lot of reptile videos on YouTube and while I'm still scared of snakes, I've learned to respect them. And snakes in nature would never behave the way the "snakes" in our lives would.
One thing the fake snakes can't handle is to see you succeed. They will scream and shout from the rooftops what an awful person you are and try to recruit anyone who will listen to join their cause. But you going about your life and excelling at your business, your job or your art will be the biggest thing to make them lose their minds.
Another thing fake snakes hate is happiness. When they see you thriving and growing as a person, this causes them to loathe themselves even more. Most of them are miserable and filled with self loathing. That is why they are so focused on you. That is why their venom is more toxic to them than it is to anyone else. Sure, they may try to spread it to as many people as possible, but in the end, they are the ones who end up swallowing it.
The fact is, just by trusting your Guides and living your truth, you're already miles beyond the fake snakes. Even if you like real snakes. The real snakes at least are trustworthy. The real snakes, you know what they are and have no doubt when they are dangerous and how to handle them. They don't pretend to be anything else, because they are real.
The fake snakes have to fake it because they are cowards. Most likely afraid of you and afraid of their own failure. So, don't sweat the fake snakes. Don't give them once more second of your time or one drop of your tears. You're more real and true than they will ever be, and they know it.
